Library access can be confusing as the University Library systems is made up of several different communities. This guide is here to help answer questions Iliff School of Theology students might have about logging into library databases, library privileges, and where to go if they have questions.
What Can Iliff Students Access?
For items accessible via electronic resources—ranging from academic journals to newspapers and ebooks—you will see the Access Online box populated with the various vendors and database collections through which we have coverage for an item. The easy ways to tell if Iliff students have access to an item in either Compass or Primo is to look at the access icons underneath the database.
If the item has a purple “I,” Iliff students have access to the item, like the first result, ProQuest Central, in the image above. The second item though, Project Muse Premium Collection, is not accessible to Iliff students--only DU Main students and joint PhD students can access this item through that link.
What about Databases?
All of the databases on the Ira J. Taylor Library’s A-Z Database list are accessible to Iliff students. When accessing a database from the University Libraries A-Z Database List, look for the purple “I”. Iliff students can also access items marked with the world icon, which indicates a database is freely available to all users.
How do Iliff students log into databases or resources?
When Iliff students access items that are only accessible to Iliff students, items with only the purple “I” icon, they log in through Google using their Iliff email address and password.
However when Iliff Students access items that have shared access, items with both the purple “I” icon and the DU icon. Once student click on a shared database link, they will be taken to a page that offers two login options where they will choose the one labeled "Iliff Login" (see picture below).
Once this option has been selected Iliff Students will login in using their email as usual. For more information about this see this video about accessing resources and searching Primo. You can see other videos created by the Iliff library about databases and using the library website here.
Can Iliff Students use the AAC curbside pickup?
Iliff Students are able to use curbside pickup at the AAC. Simply find the item in Compass or Primo, then click on the Request link above the item information.
You will need to sign into your library account before you can request material; click on the Iliff login option to sign in.
Make sure to check the location of your item! Students are able to request materials from the AAC, Hampden Center, or Music Library. Iliff library materials are not available for pick up at this time. After requesting the item, you’ll need to make an appointment to pick-up your items. Click this link for more information about using curbside pickup.
Where can Illiff students go to get help?
There are a variety of places to get help from. For help with the Iliff Library, contact the Iliff library by emailing them at support@iliff.edu or calling them at (303)765-3173.
