While searches in Compass can be saved to your "Favorites" (formerly called "E-shelf"), the URLs displayed in your browser for both searches and individual items are unstable—meaning that you should not save these URLs and expect to repeat your search or find your specific item at a later date by this method.
Instead, to grab a permanent link to a record in Compass, follow the steps below:
- After completing a search in Compass, select the three horizontal dots in the record for the permalink you'd like to generate and copy/save.
- A row of actions you can perform related to your item will appear. When you select the icon for "Permalink," a link will appear that you can then copy to your clipboard with one additional mouse click.
- The permalink can also be generated if you have clicked your way into a particular item, in the "Send To" list of actions. If the permalink icon is not immediately present, you may need to scroll horizontally to the right to discover it.
Please see our separate FAQ for Saving Results in Compass.
