If you want to view a ScienceDirect article from Compass, you will have to take one extra step after clicking “Access Online” and logging in with your DU credentials. There is a known issue with Compass which causes the links from ScienceDirect articles to take you to the most recent issue of the publication instead of to the correct article. We are working with the vendor to correct this. In the meantime, to find the article you need, you simply have to paste the title back into the “Search Within this Publication” box at the top of the page. You should be taken right to it. Here are step-by-step instructions with pictures to help.
Step One: Find the article you need and click “Elsevier ScienceDirect Journals.” If you are off campus, you will then need to log in using your DU ID and Password.
Step Two: After logging in, you will be taken to the most recent issue of the journal instead of the correct article. Paste the article title back into the search box at the top of the page and click the green magnifying glass search button.
Step Three: The article should be the first result in the list. Click the title to be taken to the article page!
Step Four: This is the article page. From here, you can view the full text, download a pdf, and see recommended related articles and metrics.
